Welcome to BBOS. Do you have the new enhanced Gmail plugin installed by chance? It is known that this does not work if you have the new Gmail plugin. Also, some custom themes could cause this method not to work.

You can do that by this way...

I think that you can do it only modifying the theme it self

I did all of this and I did it correctly (i replaced for gmail icon) --- it is not working with Natemz Theme BLAK. I switched to a diff theme and the icon I used to replace the original showed up, however, the original icon was there also and they both led me to my gmail mailbox----i just hid the original and it was fine. I switched back to the BLAK theme and my custom icon was gone again. I dont get it. I have done all of the steps correctly.

OK. First post for me. I ran across this thread somewhere else and have had fun creating my own Illustrator folder icons.

Follow instructions on berrymanual (link previously posted)

Use BBFileScout to open sd card and when .png file is highlighted>BB button>put 'file name here' on vClipboard

    Back-up and open system>samples>folder icons>BB>copy 'file'

    Rename file to folderxx.png

New folder will be available in Edit Folder selection

Also, berrymanual has a download for a crap-load of icons which I had to unzip on desktop and add to BB.

    Good luck

Ok. So I got the live.png to work then I created a new email so I could use a icon that downloaded. Did everything like before, doesn't work? I can see it under the new directory that I made in BB File Scout, but when I reboot it still doesn't work? What am I doing wrong?

You need to make sure the icons are in png format and 160 x 80 the one for normal left side and the focus in on right

Oh. I only have one icon, I didn't think you would need the one to focus on? I will have to work on that. Thanks for all of your help. Ill let you know how it works!
