I am a new member and like your site. I am busy upgrading my software from OS 7.1.342 to the latest version. But I can not find the app loader in the program files section, it only gives me the blackberry DT and blackberry device system. The desktop detects my phone and ask me to upgrade, but only gives me the same version currently on my phone. I dont know what to do any more, please help to get the new software back on my phone please. I am on windows 7 and have a bb9900

Have you installed the latest BlackBerry Desktop Manager for PC version 7.0.0, then plug in your BlackBerry Bold 9900, set it up and follow the prompts from DM.
Once everything has been setup, look for Official OS 188.8.131.523 For BlackBerry Bold 9900 Via AIS Thailand - Findings/Fixes which requires you to download, and install this official OS on your desktop.
Before upgrading any OS, always perform a backup of your BlackBerry device ( I highly recommended it).

Why going like this ? 1st, I install the software " 9700jEastAsia_PBr5.0.0_rel554_PL184.108.40.206_A220.127.116.11 1_Vodafone_Essar_Limited.exe" where I've downloaded at " BlackberryOS Downloads Tab " . After installation, I run uploader at " C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader " suddenly going to this picture. why ?

how to upgrade
Hi, I am currently on BB OS 7.1 on my torch 9810. I have downloaded the redingtions latest version for my device. I want to upgrade my device but i am unable to do so. Loader.exe is not recognising the new os which is installed. I have rebooted my laptop. Also i have deleted the vendor.xml file. Even the BB Desktop manager is not recognising the new OS installed. Please help me with the same since the current OS on my device hangs too much and i need to upgrade on a urgent basis. Thanks alot. This website rocks

Sounds like BbDevMgr.exe is the cause of you issue, go to the bottom right screen, right click, then click Start Task Manager.
Look for BbDevMgr.exe, right click, kill process, now you can load the latest OS18.104.22.1686 for your BlackBerry Torch 9810.
