Initially I also found same problem and this is the first strange problem that I experience since I already did upgrade many many Blackberry in various models. I tried to upgrade a brand new 9220 (Davis) and it happened. After do trial and error several time, finally it works. Its easy, take out the SIM Card, replace the battery and back cover until it shows Error 507 again. You can do the rest with the Loader as mention in standard procedure. Do not forget to erase Vendor.XML file as usuall.

It works well and upgrade succesfully. Hope All of you that have some problem also success with the same way. Cheer :):)

Is there a problem to upgrade with DM vs App Loader. After all xml files are removed both show upgrade available.

With App Loader you'll be able to choose more options on what you want to upgrade. If it doesn't matter to you, I would just use DM.

i was upgrading my blackberry torch from os 7.0 to 7.1 but my update got interrupted ""connecting to boot rom device" from then my phone is not booting and blining red light when i adopted this method my device in not being detected on BBSAK.

You need to make sure that you install the OS to your computer first before you start the manual upgrade process. See OS updates here for the 9700... 9700 Bold - Downloads - BlackBerryOS.com

Disconnect everything completely, take the battery out. Then put the battery back in and try re-connecting through BBSAK.

hey guys. . ., is there a way to revive a bb pearl 8100 that has no blinking red light and no hour glass but still is detected by the pc. . ., even the pin is still identifiable by the dm and apploader but not by bbsak? please help masters. . .

check if the vendor.xml file has been deleted. . .

Does this thread apply to the newer phones? Just curious...I remember thinking it would become obsolete eventually...

It can apply to OS 7 phones and older. Except OS 7 phones you don't need to wipe.

For a BB user that is a must read. I bet even the people at BB don't know about this.

Hi,

This is caused when you have multiple vendor.xml files on C Drive.

Just search for that file on entire C drive , It may be in AppData ( Temporary storage )

Once its found , Just delete it and run the loader.exe again and you should be good to go.
