Hi I tried it out and it never work. Anyway thanks for the help I think I should just send it in to Blackberry.
i finally got it working. Here's how i did it:
i installed a lower version of the DM (Version 6.....B15) on another computer together with the OS(V6.0.0.650 official) and men!!! it worked like charm. i noticed the following:
1. My backup reinstalled but i lost most of my settings in the applications.
2. my app world was having issues connecting to server(could be from my provider...dunno).
will all this issues resolve itself later as i keep using the phone. i have also done the battery pull stuff and still doin it though.
thank, good posting
Lots of info about upgrade.thankes a lot.
Well, I tried this procedure about 10 times and it still flashes then goes back to its infinite rebooting loop... I'm not sure whats the real problem. I have a 8530 curve and this problem came about a month ago. D: Oh well. I guess I'll wait 3 more months for a new phone.
I followed the direction to the letter but when i get to the place where it should show the new software it says there is none on this computer but when I look in my control panel its there. Can someone please help me. My phone has error 507 and i cant load the software that is on my computer
OK, lets make sure where everything is.
Once you have the 507 error code, you are ready to download the OS you want.
Have you downloaded the OS that you want to upgrade to? If so, go to step 4 and follow from there. Make sure that all other OS that are not going to be used are removed as shown.
Disconnect your device from the PC.
Using your PC, navigate to your Control Panel, click on Add or Remove Programs and uninstall all instances of Blackberry DEVICESoftware. Do not uninstall Blackberry DESKTOP Software. (see picture)

Now download the software of your choice that is compatible with your device.
Install the operating software to your PC.
Close Desktop Manager down if it is still open.
Connect your device to the PC via your USB cable.
Navigate to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader (where C:\ is your main drive.)
In Vista
Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
http://i451.photobucket.com/albums/q.../loaderapp.jpg
Scroll to the bottom of that window. You must delete the vendor.xml file if it is there.
Scroll back up in the same window and:
In Windows XP, double click the file named "Loader".
Windows Vista/7: Right click the file named "Loader" and choose "Run as Administrator"
Loader looks like a Blackberry phone.
(http://i451.photobucket.com/albums/q...LoaderIcon.jpg) This will start the install process.
This is the link to recover a device that is "bricked". Which is a device that powers on then powers back down in an endless loop.
Read all the instructions first please.
Comment in that thread if you have additional questions about the process. http://www.blackberryos.com/blackber...-pictures.html

hey guys is there anyone here who knows how to upgrade the os? ive been trying to upgrade my os7 to a much recent version but i think it has a different procedure now... the old way of loading an os is not effective. HELP :)
Wow, Awsum thanx Neo! It all makes sense except I can't seem to get passed step 4!!?? When I try load the new OS to my phone, I get the following error: The application "Email Setup Application" cannot be loaded because some required files are not available.
I have no idea what that means or how to fix it...
