guys i am just wondering isnt the device wiping not necessary because i updated the os 6 without wiping and it worked just fine

Ahmohsen,

What you did is called a dirty install. Basically its a crap shoot. You may be fine but in my experience, and I've done quite a few dirty installs to find out the results, you may experience memory and or battery drain in the future. That's the least of the problems you may experience. Worse case, you may end up with corrupted files and apps. If that's the case, you'll hopefully only have to delete and reinstall. Worse case is you will have to wipe the bb and reload the os.

There are alot of threads that do deal with this very issue. If you go to my profile, and then stats, you will see a link to all my posts. Look at a few of them and you will see the various issues experienced with members that have done a dirty install.

It is not mandatory. Just recommended. It helps eliminate possible conflicts in programs.

Thanks guys for your advice i did that cause i couldn't find BBSAK, the link provided is a dead link. i just have couple of questions. After i installed the OS 6.0.0.344 i have a couple of problems
1. I live in Egypt. However, each time i call a number from the contacts which is not saved with an international code the phone adds +966 which is the code for Saudi Arabia where I originally bought the phone. I faced this problem twice once wen i installed the official 5.0.0.545 and now with the 6.0.0.344
2. Since i installed OS 6 my browser isn't working with the BB service because i need to switch it from hot-spot browser to Internet browser to work with my provider. it was possible to do so with OS 5. i cant change that in OS 6 any ideas to solve this problem
3. It just happened now that the phone showed a white screen written in the middle app error 502 and a reset link i reseted it and now its working fine any idea why did this happen

1) Take out the Vendor.xml files before reloading an OS onto the phone. Its still set up for Saudi by the sounds of it.

2)I have the same problem with my Torch, is your WiFi on at the same time? If so turn it off and see if that makes a difference. It did on mine.

3) Thats the phones way of saying I am not a happy teddy and dumping itself before restarting afresh. it happens sometimes.

Is there a tutorial like this for mac users?

i followed the steps, and everything went smoothly with the upload. after the phone boots everything is black and white and its very hard to work with. I upgraded my bb9700 to os 6 if that helps

Are you sure the phone is unlocked and from a GSM network?

What do you mean its all black and white?
Scroll down, that should be the legal stuff that opens when you first turn the phone on?
