    i open dm > hit add remove applications > shaded dm box comes up and it checks device applications > then a window pops up that says dm has encountered a problem and needs to close > then windows cks for solutions and dm shuts down.

    Do this for me please. Go through that process again, and watch closely as to what task is being performed. If you could tell me exactly what part of that process it is getting the error, it would help a lot.

    the last thing that comes up before dm shutdown error is searching for device software. hope this helps.

    It does. Do you have any OS software for your BlackBerry installed on your computer? Also, which version of DM are you using?

    And here is one thing to try, it probably won't work, but doesn't hurt to try. Disconnect your computer from the internet, and try running DM again and see if you get the same error.

    the only os on computer is .151. it is in limbo hoping i can make base phone work right then upgrade to where i was before the phone replacement.

    i tried dm offline and no change.

    Okay. My next thing to try would be to uninstall the OS from your computer. You can always install it back. This will eliminate that being any part of the problem.

    sorry it took so long.

    this is what i did.
    control panel>add remove>uninstalled .151.
    then
    program files>common files>rim>app loader>deleted contents
    then emptied recycle bin restarted computer
    then tried app loader in dm and have a fatal error message in dm box
    then tried the previously repaired 3rd party app back up and got fatal error there too.
    wow this is frustrating. i do appreciate all your help and frustration is NOT with you.

    Hello tevans...I'm going to jump back in....Thanks Sunkast for Stepin in.
    So I was looking back over the threads and it looks like you have 4.7.0.148 on your device yet you have stated that 4.7.0.151 was on your PC...Is this correct?
