You can take sim card out now if want. You only need it to
Travel out of the country on the vzw network. While out of
The country (since your phone is now unlocked) you can
Buy sim cards like phone cards which are cheaper than
The networks here.

i have a question i have the sprint tour 9630 with sim it also has in the network managment option to change to a gsm network. would i still be able to unlock the phone even though its a sprint ophone? i did all the steps that i would have to do just to get to the screen to unlock the phone. but just need info before i get the code to make sure that it will work.

If you go back through the instructions to unlock your device and get to the hidden screen after you type MEPD. Look at the line that says Network. If it says disabled or not active, your device is unlocked.
