Has anyone else had an issue where some contacts can see your avatar where others cannot and vice versa? I can see all of my contacts' avis except for one, and she can't see mine either... I'm about to do the standard battery pull to see if I can come up with any change.

Makes sure your messenger contact info is associated with your address book entrys. While in messenger, highlight the contact you want, in this case hers, almost like your going to start a convo. Hit bb button and select the option about connecting to contacts. The avatar should pop up then. You can also add avatars to their contact info. Not sure if anybody esle has any suggestions, but that worked for me.

But what if they arent in your address book. I cant seem to see peopls avys. I did on my 8900 the other day when I installed bbm 5.0 but not on the 9530.

If their avatar was set prior to Monday they need to reset it and RIM will push it. Another thing that's been working is to change your status.
