How to add contact icons to home screen with BBM 5.0

I wasnt sure which forum to put this in but. We have all been trying to figure out what the option save to home screen does. Last I checked we still didnt know. I was playing with it and this is what I found in my applications folder.

Is that not awsome...favorite contacts on your home screen

here is a step by step... no photos needed

1-open BBM
2-highlight contact(dont click just touch)
3-BB key( the button that brings up the menu)
4-save to home screen
5- depending on your theme it will be in any one of the folders you have. Once you find it you can put it anywhere you want

An awesome feature of the new BBM5 that most people don't know about yet is that you can 'Stick' contacts to your homepage. Here is a quick tutorial on how to use this (btw it's really EZ!):

If you're like me you have a lot of BBM contacts. Being able to 'stick' your most frequent contacts to the home screen saves a lot of time scrolling or searching :).

Launch BBM5 which takes you to the main screen:

Scroll or search and highlight the contact you wish to 'stick' to the home screen (my #1 is prolly Hulkster :)):

Hit the menu/BB key bringing up this menu in which you scroll down to "Show in Home Screen" as shown here:

When you click that option, your contact will now be 'stuck' to the home screen for 1-click access (also notice their status icon shows letting you know they're available or not before you click):

To my knowledge there is no limit to the amount of contacts that can be stuck. Stuck contacts also show in the application screen like any other app icon. Hope this quick tutorial helps you get a little more out of your Berry :)

Me and kristopher were playin with that yesterday. We kept
Losing them in the folders the theme puts the
Downloads. I'm runnin the same theme as you, so
You should've noticed that yours went to applications and
You had to move them to the home screen folder.
I guess the moral to this is... The people tryin to do
This, don't get frustrated if you can't find the new icon.
The look in the folder that your theme puts new downloads in.
Some themes are set to automatically put new downloads
On the home screen, so you won't have this extra step. :fing02::

you have the option in your BBM with each contact to "Show on Home Screen", and they should go in the messaging folder...unless you are running pre 4.6.0...then who knows

No im running 4.7 and it puts them where the theme defines them to go as Jason stated. Just a nifty option

At the bottom of the or where your having a conversation
With them.
You need to scroll down where it shows all your contacts
Not conversations at the top. Then highlight the person
Down there. Then follow the steps I gave above. This was

It to work. Its sweet but re-check my
previous post. I edited it.

The persons avatar will be in your instant messaging folder by default if your theme has one; if not then it will go to wherever the bbm icon first appeared with the theme. For default Zen they are in the instant messaging folder as well as for the BeBerry theme.
