    You only need to back up the device if you have stuff to back up.
    What I mean is, if its new and you have nothing in it then there is no need to back it up.

    Just do the wipe and load what you would like.

    u guys are the best was having probs with the bbm followed yr advice to wipe and load os and it works like a dream thx a mill

    I've been using BBSAK for awhile now it's a definate must have software for any BlackBerry owner.
    Wiping your device is too easy not to (look for code 507) then you know it's been wiped properly.
    Then you can proceed with loading your OS with a few clicks and you're good to go
    I also love the screenshot feature too

    during the first step it shows "no device detected, click ok to continue" (even if i put in my phone's password). subsequently, no option is available for me to click 'wipe'. plz help

    You could try to stop all bbdm (desktop manager) processes. Open up windows task manager and stop all processes blackberry related like bbdevmgr. I think thats the name you will habe to look through the processes.

    i dont really understand. if "error reload software 507" appear and i don't have new OS what do i have to do ? the worse is, i forgot to backup my data

    You have to download the OS you want to load and install it on your PC.
    You can find the OS you want to load in our Downloads Center

    When I run BBSAK it says on my PIN Disconnected? is there anyways that I could reset my phone and load a new OS to completely wipe it. I am using BB 8310.. Many Thanks for the help!
