    I have even read people suggesting (that's if you are having issues), then when you wipe fresh, then install the OS...to sync contacts/messages, etc via outlook and then simply reconfigure all setting manually...this way you are truly getting a fresh start.

    Also, before wiping to do a security wipe

    What she said! I always do a security wipe and am planning on setting back up manually to see what comes of that.

    It does affect the OS, specially the 3rd party apps, I always download my apps back to the phone and just restore bbm contacts and that's it...
