I haven't tried bbsak yet. Have you tried http://www.blackberryos.com/forums/b...commander.html yet?

Crackutil is a good one too...I use that most of the time.

OK, thanks to both of you, but one more question. If I do just the security wipe and not use the other will the Storm still be on Alltel with the regular installed (factory) programs?

You can just do the security wipe or do both it will not matter you will remain unlocked. You will retain any factory opions that are installed. It will also give you the option of removing 3rd party apps. Its just what you prefer.

BB is correct. no issues at all with the reconnection of my bes after handheld wipe.

Seems like you can do the same using BBSAK ...
I guess following the steps below would yield similar results:
- run BBSAK with your phone connected to the PC
- click on "Factory Reset" (this will reset all settings - not sure about 3rd party apps though)
- click "Wipe device" to wipe the OS

I got similar results on mine...
but... i guess BBC or other experts can confirm.

To help solve this concern I have added another step to the wiping process. So far it seems to have done the trick and has actually helped the performance of my device.

As usual make sure you perform any necessary backups of you device prior to beginning the wiping process. After you complete the backup process, instead of using JLcmdr or Crack Util, now, from your device go to Options/Security Option/General Settings/BB Button/Wipe Handheld, a window will now pop up warning that all application data will be lost, there is also a box to check to include third party applications, check that box and then hit continue. You will now be asked to enter the word “blackberry”, once complete hit enter. Your device will now begin the wiping process, once complete it will reboot and you will have cleaned all traces of third party apps and any data you may have input into the device.

Now you can use your program of choice, either JLcmdr or Crack Util. You can be assured that there will not be any traces of any programs left on your device after using these programs now. Hope this help some of you with the issues that have persisted for you.

That's true Gabriel, but BBC made this write up before BBSAK came out. Bryan already made a thread on how to use BBSAK.

Personally I believe BBSAK is so much easier to use and it's faster too.
