Thread: Blackberry Playbook

I bought a brand new Blackberry Playbook in January 2012 never opened it because I was not in my own country and now I want to set it up, but when I come to the select country part, there is nothing to select, only a blanc select screen and would not alow me to continue. Maybe I am to late to regestrate, but I want to set it up asap. Is there anyone who could help me.

Have you tried to plug it to your computer to update to OS 2.0 before setup?

No, I did not try that, do you think I must do it.

My problem is that I do not know what to do to select a country, because the dropdown window is empty. I am connected to my computer and want to install my Blackberry Playbook from there, but nothing happen. Please help me.

Have you tried to re boot the BlackBerry PlayBook, and re attempt to set it up again?

Also make sure the PlayBook is charged.

Contacting RIM support might be a good idea too

This actually happens quite frequently, and there are a few fixes you can try. Many times it comes down to the type of wifi encryption (WEP, WPA-PSK,) connection your are using. If you are using WEP then you may have some issues initially setting up your PlayBook.

When you get to the point where its asking you to setup your PlayBook take note of the type of security that your WiFi network is using. Then change it temporarily to something else. You can also try using a different WiFi connection at a friends house or some place other than yours place if you cannot change the security settings on your router.
