Thread: How To Force Detect Apploader - Desktop Software 6.0

The following instructions will help you "force the detection" of a blackberry in app loader if the following happens.

1. Your Pin Shows as (PIN:Unknown)
2. Your blackberry has an "App Error ###" that is causing the computer to longer see the hardware.
3. If app loader fails, not able to connect, and is stuck in a boot loop.

• On a computer, open Desktop Manager.
• Remove the battery from the device.
• Connect the device to the computer using a USB cable.
• When the 'BlackBerry Desktop Software cannot communicate with the connected device' screen appears, click Update.
  
  

• Verify that a loading screen displays.
• After 30 seconds, insert the battery.
• Click Update.
• When a new window appears, click Update.
• Select or clear the Email Notifications check boxes, as desired.
  
  

• When the 'Update BlackBerry Device Software' message displays, click OK.
  
  

• When complete, click Close.

glad it can be of some use. I use this method often, seeming I like to tinker with the os and sometimes make mistakes.

its mostly the same. just haven't gotten to take the screen shots for it yet. or for the Desktop manager 4.3. i prolly wont with the 4.3

Well done, maybe add a link for users with OS 5.0. And then on the 5.0 guide add a link for users with OS 6.0.

Hi Ishap.I have 1 bold 9000 that could not turn off. It just happen. Try with full charge battery also not working. The red light lite for a while then off. I try this method to try updated it. Everything goes well till DM wait for device initialization: connection error half way. Any clue?
