Alternative to Bluetooth in your car!
I'm sure some already know this but for those who don't....
If your vehicle is equipped with an auxillary plug on your dash next to the radio or somewhere on your console)all you need to bypass BT is a stereo cord with a plug on both ends.
You plug in your phone and set the stereo to auxillary, then you can listen to all your own music thru your car stereo like personal files loaded on your microSD or Pandora or Slacker etc.
Then while listening if a call comes in you simply hit the send>headset and say "Hello?" they will hear you and their voice will come thru your stereo speakers. When youre done you hit end and the music picks up where you left off!!
I've been doing this for 2 years now. I just assumed that everyone knew about this but recently I'm seeing that it's unknown to many.I think the reason it's not used more in RIM/VZW's marketing strategy is because they want people to continue to buy BT? But no other phone, or most other phones don't have the ability to do this due to something RIM built into the BB unit allowing some sort of delay in the microphone so as that the person talking to you does not hear their own voice as feedback thru your phones mic. It's just a very cool feature we have with BB.
If your car does not have an auxillary outlet in it, there is a very simple solution for this as well but will cost a one time fee of around $40-$100 depending on your budget. Ask me and I will explain.
If you live in a state with laws against talking while driving, this is a great way to beat the handsfree issues, not to mention it's just plain safer and smart!
I can't think of a better way to help folks out than to save them the cost of a traffic ticket=rising insurance rates and enable them the ability to save their own life or someone elses, by not having to drive while talking into their cell. That's one thing this forum is in place for, correct? Hope this was helpful and informative.
Please be safe out there.......
