Step By Step On Swap A Radio

Care to provide a quick step by step on how to swap the radio on v8.5 without using Swap-A-Radio? I still can't get it to work.

Ran as admin > fail
Ran as admin with UAC disabled > fail
rebooted PC with 9530 device attached > fail
uninstalled .net framework 3.5, rebooted, re-installed .net framework 3.5, rebooted > fail

I'm a heavy user of iheartradio and slacker and I'm tired of the constant battery pulls, looking to roll back to .141 radio.

I thought it was just installing .141 on the PC then copying the .sfi to the CDMA folder but with v8.5 installed the .sfi is located in the BackupSFI folder. (Note: I have v8.5 installed on a laptop, not the PC). Do I simply replace the .sfi that's in the BackupSFI folder? This didn't seem to work the 1st time, but I could have screwed it up. TIA

I dont know of anyone using the .141 radio but there are people who have gotten the .132 radio working with this hybrid. http://www.blackberryos.com/forums/h...tml#post103420

That is a great post on the .cod files you will need to do it. Before you delete .132 from the computer go in to the cdma folder instead of java in the .132 os and copy that one and only file to your desktop, follow all the steps in that post but instead of using swap a radio copy that file from the cdma folder on your desktop go into the .151/v8.5 cdma folder and overwrite that file that is there, if this doesnt make sense let us know and I will get you more specific directions.

because that way you dont have to download and install two os's on your pc.. swap saves you from needing to have the radio file from the other, but if you are like me I file all the os's on the hard drive out of the rim folder for just such situations.

Swap A Radio has been integrated into Shrink A OS. You should download and use SAOS.

1) How does one know if the radio is the culprit? Because from what I know, themes, apps, and general GSM coverage being in and out can also cause trouble for battery.
2) Does it matter if my phone is a TELUS CDMA phone, unlocked and running on a GSM network in the Philippines?

It could especially if your carrier does not have a device on the network that uses a 5.0 OS. and it would depend on the band of your GSM on if it would affect your battery life, but typically anything to do with signal problems is caused by the radio.
