Thread: BBOS a Security Threat?

My laptop just went into severe panic mode and wouldn't let me continue navigating on BBOS saying the site had malicious software that could expose personal financial information. WTF!? I want my BBOS back! Do you guys run anti virus or whatever softwear that's needed to keep the trash at bay? Was it just a fluke? I kept getting a request to run an add on at first, then everything went crazy.

Okay I'm back online now and no alarms are going off. Strange though, don't like that very much.
You can remove the thread if you like unless you have any comments or ideas to help others out in the future.

Just experienced the same thing twice with the later flashing notices for adding software to combat malware/spyware/ and other. Just cancel and do not accept any of it. For system security comfirmation run Macafee or whatever you have "quick scan" for any of the above and you should be OK. Don't know what happened but it did to me also.

I loaded the new BBOS Theme via DT and then deleted it and went OTA.

Had the same problem as well. Exited out of everything and am back on not currently having any problems.

Ya. I received it myself. It should be taken care of now. Nothing was affected on your computer or anything like that. What happend was, one of our banners at the bottom that we have like google adsense (but different) was doing it. I just removed it so please let me know if you still get the pop up.

To be safe you can always run a spyware program or anti virus just to make sure your computer is safe.
