    Max your memory

I found this neat little tool, I already posted about in a thread about OS6.448 but it deserves its own thread. Its basically a easy way to shrink a OS (albeit a lesser amount). It removes the stuff you never normally use, as with all such apps use at own risk. But I used it on my Bold, worked great! Obviously back up data/third party apps first.

You ran MaxMem on a Bold with 6.0.0.448? No problems? And it actually recovered some memory?

I know a Torch user (.448) that tried MaxMem conservatively and then ran into a number of issues.

Has anyone else out there tried it on 6.0.0.xxx?

When I ran it, it removed Voice activated dialling
Misc Ringtones (I have stock ones still)
Vendor Themes I now just have Vodafone uk black zen
    Push to talk
    Viarous Tmobile items
    BES (I only use BIS)
    Preloaded videos/photos
    Blackberry internal tools
    Other misc items
It gave me around 7MB extra.
I used it to see what the results would be. I've run diagnostics and all is up and running well. Since I've just been using the black zen theme the device is runing a tad faster, altough this may be a. Aspect of the Theme
Using this just saved one of my regular Java/alx folder raids on a OS, and as I said it was a experiment that worked

Definitely themes can have a huge effect on the speed of the device. Especially if the theme is loaded with animations via a heavily coded svg.
