Solution for those Unable to View Attachments
ALL CREDIT GOES TO OUR VERY OWN TOYTOOII FOR PROVIDING THE FOLLOWING SOLUTION.
Unable to View Attachments: "The attachment type cannot be viewed on your phone."
Please read completely before performing the following procedures. This has resolved the issue for several members. (second step is the clincher).
First, confirm that you have not eliminated Blackberry Attachment Service or Docs to Go when installing your OS. They need to be on your device to view some of these attachment types. Then perform the following steps:
On your device do: options>advanced options>applications>look for Blackberry Attachment Services (should be near top of list)>highlight it,>Blackberry button>edit default permissions >User Data> and set to "Allow" in the User Data section. Expand that User Data section and be certain everything is "Allow". Then BB button > save.
Pull battery, reboot and give it a go.
(note: If your settings did not require any change, no need to perform battery pull. Go to step 2 which completes with the battery pull and reboot).
Send your service books. (email settings>BB button>service books>send service books)
Upon confirmation, pull battery, reboot.
Important Note: Please send yourself a NEW email with the appropriate attachment type(s) after you have executed the above steps in order to confirm you are now able to view attachments. The attachments that you received prior to performing these steps may still give the error message when you try to view them. But all attachments received after the above "fix" should be viewable without any problems.

This write up will help to browse and manage your Blackberry Device directories. This OTA link will install BBFile Scout to Blackberry devices with an OS of 4.3 or higher. This application is compatible with the 8110, 8130, 8310, 8330, 8700, 8800, 8820, 8830, 8900, 9000, 9500 & 9530. BBFileScout Changelog - a file manager Software for BlackBerryģ Devices with OS 4.3 or higher
As a current user, if you would like to upgrade, select the latest link (version 1.1.2). Your device will prompt you concerning replacing your existing copy of BBFile Scout. Select yes to copy over your current installment.
After you download is complete your device may promt you to reboot. After the reboot sequence the BBFile Scout application will be in your Downloads folder.
These next steps will delete all preloaded wallpapers, folder icons, special notifiers, etc. None of these steps are irreversible. You can reinstall if you wish.
Open BBFile Scout. Once your application opens, you should be viewing your Directory. This shows you the different directories located on your device.
Should be labeled as such: SDCard, store, system
Select System. From here, your drop down directory should be comprised of samples, atom.dat, CreationInfo.txt, info.mkf, preloadcontrol.bak, and preloadresult.lst.
Letís free up some device memory.
We will start in samples. Select the samples directory.
To make this short and sweet, delete every thing here except the ringtones. To delete an item, highlight item for example contacts. This doesnít delete your contacts it only deletes descriptive folders for your contacts. If you use these folders, donít delete them. Select your menu(Blackberry)button and choose delete. Continue this process for all sample folders except ringtones. Yes, you guessed it, if you delete your ringtones, you will not have ringtones associated to your device. You will then need to reinstall the Core Applications for your device through Desktop Manager or through Loader.exe. Now that every thing is deleted except ringtones, backup one screen to the System Directory. If you have a Storm 9530 that had the Babylon AD video installed, delete both the preloadcontrol.bak and the preloadresult.lst files. Itís not much but since you deleted the video that contained the Babylon AD trailer video earlier, those files are taking up space.
Feel free to explore the rest of your device with this app. If there is any other instructions that need to be added please notify a BBOS Team Member and it will be reviewed.
