Thread: How To: Ditch Your 1xev and Get a 3G Symbol

Many have asked how to get rid of their 1xev symbol and change it to a 3G symbol with the 4 dots and all... Many have try to fulfill these wishes and they have failed. Some of made themes that change the symbol, but none have made it so you could use any theme and still have the 3G symbol.

That has now changed! My man Driphter, over at Driphter.com, was able to do it. After hours, he almost gave up, he got a patch.



Description: This Patch adds the 3G symbol for all devices on VZW running 5.0.0.451 or less. Will not work with .46x and higher.

Download and extract with winrar. Then use bbsak to install.

This is a great patch however currently it only works on verizon devices and certain builds as you described. I made a theme that works on all Tour CDMA devices regardless of build or carrier.

This is by no means to take away credit from driphter but to offer a solution for other users that cant utilize the awesome patch he created.
