hey, I noticed something with my blackberry.. it seems to take much longer time to boot than before I updated its OS. Will this have any effect on my device? I get pretty worried when I wait more than 5 or 6 minutes just for a simple reboot

Hey Mxo, sometimes this can be temporary after updating an OS. But sometimes it's just the OS being an ass. You can always try re-installing the OS to see if it helps. Otherwise, if you don't mind waiting for another update, you can always try another OS version.
Always be sure to back up your device prior.

It can also be an effect of the os you updated from and to. For instance, updatong from 6 to 7 on some devices causes an increase in boot time. Also, app updates can eat up a lot of ram, so can an overly large browser cache. There are more than a few ways a BlackBerry can have its boot time affected.
Hello Mxo! I always find that when I upgraded my os, it takes time for it to "settle in". After a few battery pulls and a couple, etc of days, it usually gets smoothed out. Hope it's been good to you since you posted!![]()
BB then, now, forever!
My first update was from OS 7 to 7.1. I first noticed then about the boot time. I updated from 7.1.0.523 - 7.1.0.649 and my last update was to OS 7.1.0.714 and still it would just take that long to boot.
It also gets stuck at some point while booting

Well, I guess mine hasn't "settled in". I wiped all apps I installed hoping for some change, but still would be the same

I would suggest shrinking your current os, then reconnecting to your desktop manager.
