Post Blackberry 8900 (Reload Software 552 Error

    Hi there,

    Please help!!!!!

My partner has a Curve 8900 I think the o/s is 5 I think, I cannot get into it to be able to tell, plus I have never needed to know. I have tried to connect it to the BBDS, with no luck, It tells me that my BB is connected but the picture of the unit, and the PIN are in a faded display.

I then get a message telling me that the BBDS cannot connect to the device.

I also have a 9700 which connects to the BBDS with no problems......

    Is the 8900 FUBARED??

    What can I do???

Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

Hello BlackerBerry, welcome to the BBOS forums.

You can check the OS on the 8900 by going to Options... About... and reading the 3rd line down.

Check to see if the 8900 has a hybrid OS installed on the device.

Reload Software 552 Error mean its crippled and you should use appload.exe program inside of the apploader folder to reload the os

The file path to the loader is either....

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader

    or

    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader

In either case, once you open the apploader file, you'll click on the loader icon. You may also want to follow the instructions in the following link as it sounds like you have bricked your device.
