Yup the best way to update if DM (Desktop manager) isnt working is to go and use Apploader is located in Programfiles/commonfiles/research in motion/apploader. If not an OS from ur phones company then make sure you delete the Vendor.Xml file

I just want to add to make sure you delete the vendor file and then empty your trash. Go back to the App Loader file and double click on Loafer. It is the icon that looks like a telephone receiver. It will automatically start the loaddr file to install the os.

The reason you cant find it is because you need to delete the vendor file AND disconnect from the internet.

DM is looking on the net for any device software for your phone but it does not look on your PC unless thats the only place to look.

If you disconnect from the net before you plug your BB in, it will find the installed version on your PC.

    Follow the how to guides.
Thats how I found my way around at first.

Good luck, and you can always give me a shout if you need help.
