what is a COD file.. sorry new to BB and its inner workings

A COD file is a compiled java module. Hundreds of them exist in the BlackBerry OS and make up things such as the phone, browser, ringtones, media player, etc.

nope it just came up in the 4.5.0.0.160 (it think) its at least right around that OS..........
