Warning on 2nd Hand 83xx in Indonesia
Hi Everyone,
Please be aware that if you are in Indonesia and plan on buying a 2nd hand or refurbished Curve 83xx model, you risk at getting a clone. Most units are cloned and have a -1 (Minus One) as the Vendor ID.
Your Curve may work for one or two months but then your BIS will be deactivated.
If you plan on getting a second hand 83xx, please check the Vendor ID but Shift + Alt + H.
Also, many of these phones have only a few seconds showing Uptime so please do your self a favor and do not buy that phone unless you can get a 1 year replacement if you wound up with a clone.
Regards
MIKE

BerryReview had an article a while back about something similar. There was a company using parts of BB's to assemble units for sale. It didn't go into the PIN issue but I got the impression the PIN's there would either be cloned, or would be reused from devices that would likely have been blacklisted by the original carrier.
The article is here for anyone that wants a look
