Issue receiving email
We have a VZW Blackberry Curve 8330 and we are having trouble with the email.
We cannot seem to receive emails on it. The email address is in the following format: firstname.lastname@example.org
Another person in our office has a curve as well and his address is email@example.com with no problems. Cold the period be the problem here?
Update: We also cannot send emails via this unit.

You might wanna try resending your service books, or re-register your host routing table.

Thank you. We have done both. We recreated the Blackberry account, sent the service books and registered the table.
Now, when I send an email from the unit, I enter in the "to" field firstname.lastname@example.org
What it sends to is flast domain.com and it fails to send.
UPDATE: Send is ok now. just re-tested.

If you are not receiving email messages on your BlackBerry? smartphone, try one or more of the following:
Check the wireless network signal strength on the BlackBerry smartphone
If the signal strength is too low, your BlackBerry smartphone may not be able to receive email messages. The network status indicator on your BlackBerry smartphone must display two bars or more for reliable email messaging. If you move to an area with a stronger signal, you should start receiving email messages.
Check which wireless network the BlackBerry smartphone is using
Some wireless network types cannot transmit email messages. You can send and receive email messages only if the network status indicator on your BlackBerry smartphone displays GPRS or EDGE. If your BlackBerry smartphone is not connected to one of these wireless networks, move to an area with appropriate network coverage.
Verify that the email account details in BlackBerry Unite! software are correct
If the email account details in BlackBerry? Unite!™ software are incorrect, your BlackBerry smartphone will not receive email messages. Verify that your email address and password are correct. If prompted, check that the protocol, incoming server name, incoming port, and SSL settings in BlackBerry Unite! software are correct.
Send yourself a PIN message
If you can send and receive PIN messages but you cannot receive email messages, there may be a problem with your email account service provider or the email account details in BlackBerry Unite! software. Verify that your email address and password are correct. If prompted, check that the protocol, incoming server name, incoming port, and SSL settings in BlackBerry Unite! software are correct.
try doing these steps, then let me know how that works.
And if i can't figure it out im sure one of the smarter people here will lol :-)

Ok, after sending a few PIN messages from multiple sources, and sitting on the phone with VZW for a WHILE...lol we *THINK* we have it fixed. VZW transfered the account to a test unit they had and it functioned. We then sent the service books to our unit and cleared the message history.
At last test last night at 5:30p CST, it was working.
