Thread: 8330 OS 5.0 on 8320?

I saw that there is a leaked 5.0 update for the 8330, and I wondered what is likely to happen if I installed it on a 8320. Will it work with GSM/GPRS etc? Is it just a stupid idea?

Odds are it will either a) brick your phone or b) you won't have wifi or any 8320 specific features working or anything and more than likely get errors left and right. Best bet - wait until a hybrid comes out.

So either it wont work or it will work so bad that it would basically not work. ;-)

I'm afraid it won't work. The CDMA radio file in the 8330 OS isn't compatible with the 8320. You wouldn't be able to use a radio file for the 8320 with the 8330 5.0 OS files either as the platform is incompatible as well.
