Can i upgrade my existing os for the next availabe os to make it compatible for
viber calls?

Viber has said that an update will come out in April to support VOIP (voice over IP). That means you'll be able to make calls using Viber like you would with Skype. However, they haven't specified which OS' will be supported. I imagine that OS 5 and up will be. So you may not need to update. But you never know. We'll have to wait and see.
