Which release of OS 6 do you use ?
I have exactly the same problem as you and I suspect that most users will have the same battery drainage (and sometimes the screen freezes for a minute or so), I am in the process of going back to the OS 5 version, doesn't seem to be as simple as I thought, but working on it.
Well it's done, I followed the steps laid out by others in the forum, downgraded back to OS 5 and everything is back to where it was before the upgrade. thanks for the input from other users.
Hi,
the version of OS6 i had was the bundle .2475.
I think bundle .2475 is .546 ! So I suggest giving it a shot & install .668 where you can find it here
Hello, firstly I'm in canada and using Vidéotron, also I downgraded everything back to OS-5 and I must say I am very happy with OS-5, no lags, no battery drainage, I make many calls per day with my BB and I only need to re-charge it every 2nd day with the OS-6 bundle I had to do so TWICE a day, so I don't want to spend another 3 hours or so on a full install without having 100% confidence of the huge improvement, since I don't have that confidence I shall stay with OS-5 for a long time. I compare this to XP versus VISTA, many went back to XP without regret, this is the same for me at this moment.
Hopefully my post will help others.
Cheers
Good points. OS 6 can be a drain. But not all OS's are equal. Sometimes a older OS can be better than a newer one, and vice versa. Even having things like language files, ect, which are not needed can be a drainer.
is os6 better than os 5 for battery saving? cuz i dont know how my bb dies-.-
I have the same problem with my 9300 phone. The battery drains too fast and sometimes the battery indicator doesn't show the correct amount of battery that you still have. There are times when my phone will automatically shutdown while the battery indicator is just half.
