Thread: Plug into desktop and automatically updates to os6??

Hey, i was just wondering if we plug in our blackberry curve 9300 to the desktop and connect it with the desktop manager, will it automatically update to the os6 software now?
i'm getting my blackberry this week, but i'm pretty sure it ships with os 5. anyways, i was just wondering if it will update to os6 if i download it, or do i have to go through all the trouble and download and install it myself? :S

Yes, if your carrier offers OS 6 for your device, you can check for updates via Desktop Manager and it will tell you.

download it first... install on PC... then upgrade through DM or the loader.exe, whichever works... upgrading by downloading through DM while plugging the device (meaning direct upgrading not having it installed on PC first) might get you a nuked device if by luck the connection is interrupted..
