Thread: installing os 6 Need Help guys..........

its been almost 2 weeks i am struggling to install os 6 on my blackberry curve 3g.
ill let u know what steps i hav performed incase if u can correct me.

Device Details :
1)Curve 3g9300
2)os version : 5.0.0.977
3)Carrier : Vodafone.

Steps followed to install os 6
1)i have downloaded and install bb DM version 6.
2)i have downloaded the os 6 software from Telus,Mobilicity,Aircel.
3)But i hav only installed 1 os at a time and tried installing on my bb.
4)After installing the required os i went and deleted the vendor.xml file
5)next i runned the loader.exe i clicked next and then its say THAT THE BLACKBERRY DESKPTOP SOFTWARE DOES NOT HAVE THE BLACKBERRY DEVICE SOFTWARE FOR THE DEVICE THAT YOU HAV CONNECTED TO THE COMPUTER
6)I even tried installing a leaked os 6 but still no luck it just gives me this message and does not proceds further....
guys plz help.....need os 6 desp

What is the number of the OS you are trying to install? It must be for the 9300 and not the 9330.

yes the os 6 is for 9300 but still no luck......any suggestions plz.

Try reinstalling BlackBerry Desktop Manager.

tried do all these but still no luck............which dekstop manager shld i use bcoz i tried with Dm 4.7 and 6.0 as well but its not working out for me..........also wantd 2 know if its is nessary to wipe the device inorder to install the OS......

Just out of curiosity, have you tried a different USB cable, or different USB slot on your computer?

If you follow our upgrade guide, wiping the device is one of the steps. Be sure to follow every step exactly as it says.

i have the original cable given by blackberry yes but i did not try with othe usb slots.....so let me giv a try out and see......

What I'm saying as well is try another cable. I've heard of people having a bad USB cable.

yes i hav followed all the steps except that i didnt folows is to wipe the device bcoz i am concerned if after wiping the device still if the DM does not install the os 6 then i am left with a wiped out deivce.......i had read in on net that sometimes after wiping out the deice the DM manager does not recognize the BB.....so i am sort of worried....wht shld i do ?.....

hey finally its done after a huge struggle..............just loaded the apploader more than 3 times. continously......and the third time dont know but it worked...

So you were able to get everything working?

Could have been the apploader was hanging and compatibility issues. What OS are you running on your computer?

Nice to see you got everything working. What do you think about OS 6?

HELP... i'm facing the same issue. I tried many times with no luck, I'm always stuck on that Device Application Selection page.
Note that this is not the first time i do upgrade to a new OS, but it's the first time i 'm stuck like this. HELP please.

ok, problem solved by rebooting the PC. So i suggest that you reboot your PC once you install the new OS. that may help have helped.

After wiping the OS of device, PC's software cant connect with my device(BB Curve 9300 3G). Please help, the software cant be loaded to device. I'm stuck where the device saying, ERROR 507 Reload Software. After pressing next on LOADER screen, it shows my PIN in the following screen, then next again, it says CONNECTING TO DEVICE...., then it only shows CHINES DICTIONARY App. Please urgently HELP.
