Thread: BlackBerry Curve 3

For about a month I've been hearing BlackBerry has another "new" device besides the slider. Kevin over at Crackberry has been hearing the same thing and has now pretty much confirmed that this is indeed true thanks to the UAProf Document on BlackBerry.net server. This new device is the Curve 9300 or Curve 3, with possible code names being Keppler and Aries II. We can assume this is going to be their new generation Curve since it is now in the 9xxx field along with the newer devices. What can we expect to see with this new Curve? We don't know and I would have to say I wouldn't get your hopes up for anything exciting. However at the same time since RIM is going to be moving into areas of the world to dominate, this device will easily sell and make the top dogs of RIM very happy, while us BlackBerry fanatics sit and wait for something new that has not been around for 5 years already.

Can't say that the UAProf impresses me even the least.

I would agree with you except for the fact that it has 802.11n WIFI.

OMG the 320x240 screen resolution makes me cringe. RIM is gonna release a new device that is outdated right when it hits the market >.<

This has to be a device slated for release in emerging markets and not North America or any other place RIM already has a large footprint. Seems very basic and bare bones. Probably will be very cheap when it comes to BB pricing and they will look to sell tons of them. I look at it as an 83XX series for new markets. This is all total speculation on my part.

They will release it in NA and it'll sell like hot cakes. The only people complaining would be the people that want a high-end device (you and I).

FYI this will be the low entry level device, webkit ans some new things, and I bet you all there is some big thing coming our way, wait and you'll see.
