    Bold 9900 - lost back up data

    i did my first data back up on feb 2013 and i have backed up my bbm contacts as well. my phone was formated on april 2013 and when i tried to restore the data, some of the data was missing including the bbm contacts. how can i retrive the feb 2013 data? i really need the bbm contacts to be restored as i use it not only for personal use but for business as well. your prompt response and assistance is highly appreciated.

    Hi Sarah, when you choose to restore data, there should be a list of all the backups done using Desktop Manager. Look for the backup dated for February.
    Also, if you're using the most recent version of BlackBerry ID and BBM, backing up and restoring your BBM Contacts is already taken care of so I'm not sure why they aren't appearing. Unless as I say you haven't updated your BBM. Once you get over this little hurdle I suggest you update it, if you haven't.

    I tried it but I still couldn't get my data back... Thank you for your time... I believe that the IT people have done some serious damages to the phone because I can no longer use the camera and the mic broke as well

    Have you tried using the backup restore feature within BBM?

    It may not be damage. It may be that they have prevented you from using those features. If that is the case you need to comply with company policy.

    If there is an IT policy in place, the IT dept can restrict certain access on the device.

    This is meant for security reasons.

    Ask your IT dept if they have put a policy on your device and what the policy blocks on the device.
