Does anyone know how to use the mobile hotspot feature under globe phils network prepaid subscription without additional data plan. I am under BBMAX599 subscription, tried to activate mobile hotspot but was given a prompt that the feature needs to be subscribed by another data plan by the network provider. Tried to ask a globe rep but was informed that such feature is available only to postpaid subscriber.
The advice the rep gave you is correct. You will not be able to use mobile hotspot.
Having looked into this myself, I haven't found a workaround to enable the mobile hotspot feature.
For now, I use Tether for my laptop and I always have my trusty Playbook to bridge to! Lovin' me some Playbook!!
I can use mine, my carrier is Smart, and I had my other BB connect to my hotspot bold
On my bb 9900 it works fine also, I'm in south africa and I'm using vodacomSA, in fact it works fine with all the other carriers I've tried it on and it charges doesn't support BIS, works gr8, I can even insert the modem sim card and use it a wifi on other mobile devices, any other device with wifi or WLan
