Thread: Hard Reset Boot Up Time

I know when my phone was newer, it used to start up very fast after a battery pull but nowadays it seems to take around 5 minutes to reset between battery pulls. Is there anyway to get this down quicker so that I dont have to wait 5 minutes between battery swaps?

Uninstall more apps is the best way to cut boot time down.

i think ive uninstalled almost every app i dont use. i'm wondering if this has anything to do with being on OS 7.1

Do you have the memory cleaner enabled on your phone???

I have noticed this to on my 9800. The only thing I have round that works is either removing applications like Joe mentioned or customizing my OS by removing some bloatware.

I dont think so. I might have tried something like that but i think i migh of end up disabling it. How do i check?

Hey ignites, you can find Memory Cleaning via Options>Security>Advanced Security Settings>Memory Cleaning and Enable.

Here's some screen shots I took to help everyone who may need to find Memory Cleaning, and/or settings.

If you see below, click off what you wish, adjust the Idle Timeout, and check off MC shortcut to the home screen.

have you upgraded the OS on top of your existing OS? i have found that after doing that a few times the phone becomes slow. so i always prefer to back up my phone, wipe the device clean and install the fresh os, then restore backup.

My phone was repaired so I only got it back in MAy and I upgraded to 7.1 as soon as I got it. The issue to seems to be showing up only recently. I'm lazy to do a wipe but I think that may be what I have to do.

i also had the same OS with my bold, i did wipe and install new OS, not less than a minute to boot up. . .
