Thread: Anybody had an issue with the media card reader?

I've got a weird issue with the media card reader on my Bold.

It just stopped working and won't detect any single media card.

I now just get "Media Card is not presently inserted in the device" within the options.

To help anybody help me, the following has been done.

Checked media card(s) in other 9900s etc and they are fine. All the data is still there.
Took it to a shop who initially told me that they thought the reader was faulty, so they replaced it. This didn't solve the issue.
The shop tried several physical card readers and none of them fixed the problem, leading to the sho telling me that they thought it was software based.
I've done factory reset, wiped the software and re-installed the os and the problem persists.

The other parts of the card reader work fine.

Has anybody came across this weird issue that has a solution or suggestion?

Also , as a suggestion, try upgrading to the latest leaked OS7.1.0.402, available below;

Download: 9900_7.1.0.402

Yes Media Card Support is enabled and I'm already using .402.

In fact, I've downgraded and upgraded bit by bit just to ensure that it wasn't .402 that was causing the issue.

Did u happen to find a solution to ur problem?

Try updating to the latest OS first. If it still does not work, try the media card on different devices. Try reseating the card, and make sure its 32GB or less. Under warranty?
