Is this your first time upgrading your device's OS? If so then you would have to follow this instructions just to make sure as the above steps are a bit different. See this link:

I would recommend you to use the Blackberry Device Manager first because BBH Tool is a bit complex.. Follow the steps run through with it and familiarize yourself first before upgrading your OS..

Also, can you tell me what exactly the problem you encountered and then we will go from there.
