Does anyone know how to turn off that insipid camera shutter with the 9900. The camera is bad enough, but then you add on the CCCCLLLLLIIIIIICCCCCKKKKK, it drives me nuts. Thanks in advance!

There are applications developed for the BlackBerry Bold 9900 that mutes the shutter sound, available from BlackBerry App World.

Sir TwistMyMind and Sir grimreaper are absolutely correct.. I understand how you feel. When I started using BB, that's 1 of the things id like to take away. However, after several researches and readings, I've found out that it can't be muted. Unless, you have the app that can mute the shutter sound available in App World.

There are few apps to choose from.. 1 good example is the Silent Camera, Sir TwistMyMind just mentioned. Its actually a good buy since you're concerned about the irritating shutter sound..

Nothing is impossible so who knows, RIM will get rid of it by putting an option in the future devices.. So let's just wait for now or get the App for the meantime

I highly doubt RIM will get rid of the camera shutter sound, if I remember correctly, the reason they wouldn't or any mobile phone manufacturer is due to privacy concerns.

Well let's just wait and see.. Considering all the new stuffs happening in the mobile world, this might be changed in the near future. However, if that would break some privacy reasons, then I guess we got no choice but to depend on the App that can get rid of the shutter sound

Installing a third party application is the only way of getting rid of the camera's shutter sound.

Silent Camera works fine - just be sure to set where it stores your images to.
