Hello nana kwame and welcome to ::bbos::
You can install this leaked OS7.1.0.267 from us I have provided the link below for you to download and install.
Download: Leaked: OS 7.1.0.267 For BlackBerry Bold 9900
This leaked OS is for either branded or unbranded BlackBerry 9900 devices.
With regards to your SDmicro memory card, go to Options>Device>Storage, then press the BlackBerry button, scroll down to repair, and "Select the storage you want to repair" pick Media Card, not Built-in Media *Check Save Lost Clusters.
Thank you.
Thank you so much for the link,i am a keen visitor of this site and i have already downloaded and installed this OS.
But with the media card issue its unresolved. I tried what u showed me but it says "repair failed" media card not installed.
so confused right now because the media card works in all phones i have tried it on. Any alternative?
Thanks alot for your help really appreciate
Is the memory card inserted properly?
Check the memory card's model number to ensure the memory card is compatible.
From what I've read here, the same memory card will work for other mobile phones, but not your Blackberry.
The same memory card will not repair when you use the BlackBerry repair feature.
Try to remove the memory card from the device, reboot your BlackBerry device, then re-insert the memory card again.
Let me know what happens.
Thank you.
my media card is "kingston HC 4" 8gig. but the funny thing is that it was accessible when i was on os 7.0 but this changed immediately i upgraded to 7.1. i have also tried what u showed me n it still doesn't work. could you please show me some compatible models or brands of media card to get?
thank u again, very grateful.
Have you formatted that memory card?
Am I correct to say this, but isn't the Kingston HC 4 8GB, a SDHC memory card, and not a SDmicro memory card?
As a current owner of a BlackBerry Bold 9900, these devices only takes microSDHC (High Capacity) memory cards, sizes between 2GB right up to a maximum memory capacity, which is 32GB.
Also, If I may suggest, looking at your Bold 9900 storage option, such as enabling media card support.
Go to Options>Device>Storage, then look at "Media Card Support", you need to check it in your BlackBerry device, so you can access the files that are on your media card.
Thank you.
This is what i have on the media card"kingston Micro SD HC4 8 gig"
Is that the recommended media card for the bold 9900?
if not please recommend a proper brand and model to get please. and if its the right media card, what do i do?
very disturbed by this issue. and lemme add that, this same card was accessible when i was on os 7.0. started having this issue immediately i upgrade to 7.1
thanks for all the help
I'm guessing the memory card has been corrupted possibly because it is being used on two different platforms. Have you tried a new memory card on your BlackBerry?
to best thing to do is to buy a new memory card
+1
I have a strong feeling (nothing tha can point to) that your current memory card works with the 7.0 OS, for an unknown reason, it will not sync up with the 7.1OS. I agree with herbert yu in that the easiest fix should be in buying a new SDHC memory card. Also, make sure it's an SDHC card as you should use the best quality memory card with the best cell phone, your Blackberry Bold.
let us know how it goes
I am betting hardware.
My Bold 9900 has stopped recognizing memory cards as well. I have tried 3 other memory card and I get the same message. Have tried all 4 cards in other devices and they work fine. Coupled weith the short battery life I am not pleased with this phone.
