Thread: Migrating from Bold 9700 to 9900.

Later this week I will receive my new 9900. I would be grateful for pointers on how to migrate my data over from my current 9700. In addition I will be using my current SIM and would like advice on how to set up the 9900 to take over BB email service etc from the 9700.

Any help gratefully received.

Nice, the 9900 is a great choice. And the new versions of the desktop software have the "switch device wizard". It makes the change over super easy and smooth.

You will run the switch device wizard with the old berry connected first and then when prompted it will have you plug in your new one.

the prompts on screen are pretty self explanatory. I feel you wont have any issues if you follow the instructions.

Thank you very much. Yes, I just checked my BB Desktop Manager and found the wizard so I should be good to go once Amazon delivers my new 9900. Looking forward to using it with my Playbook with OS 2.0 soon too.

Congrats rafiki on your purchase of the BlackBerry Bold 9900, it's an amazing device, even better now with the recently leaked OS7.1.0.267, and much better than their shipped version OS7.0.0.xxx

Thanks. I have not been in the loop on the 7x OS. What was wrong with the current x and what is better with the leaked version?

There isn't anything wrong with previous OS builds, regardless if official, or leaked.

The difference for OS7.1.0.267 for the BlackBerry Bold 9900 has brought us several improvements, and new features.

When a new OS leak or official is released, the purpose is to bring out improvements and/or features for the end user.
