Thread: My bricked 9930

I think what you all are calling when blackberry is "BRICKED" when the battery is in the red or really low and you put the phone on the charger and it never turns back on with a flashing red light every 10 seconds or so.......

this has now happened to my blackberry bold 9930 TWICE....... YES I KNOW lol TWICE!!!! SUCKS

what are there IF ANY ways to fix this problem or how to prevent it from happening????????

Generally bricking a device happens when installing a OS that is faulty, for the wrong device, or the process did not complete. Were you installing a OS?

It can also happen but not very often due to installing a faulty app.

no not at all. this is the SECOND time from the this has happened which when i get a new phone it will be my 3RD 9930!

it has happened both times doing the same exact thing now. the phone battery was down to the red part. i forgot to put it on the charger last night so when i got up this morning i looked at it, saw the bar in the red ( or there may have been no bar but was still red) plugged it into the charger and hung out for a few hours. cam back to the phone and it was black with the red light flashing every 15 seconds for a matter of 10 seconds. i was NOT installing ANY OS nor have i installed any OS on either phone and this happened both times doing the SAME thing...

Have you tried another battery? Could be faulty batteries.

my 9930 is stuck at "connecting to Boot Rom" and it just keeps rebooting. Help!!

Hey downloader, welcome to ! If the device is getting stuck on the "connecting to Boot Rom" the loader is not able to connect to the ARM to initialize the JVM. the the steps on this first part of the thread to run the loader without the Java virtual machine and post back if it help or if your still stuck.
