    Battery shock bold 9900

    Guys,

Can anyone tell me WTF is wrong with the bold 9900 battery?

I'm getting max 6/7 hours looking around twitter / Google search everyone's saying the same

Is this issue with the battery or the OS7?

    I'm using V7.0.0.440

Don't have any apps running in the background part from Official Twitter that's not updating just sending tweet updates.

Gone from Bold 9700 to this going what the hell! it's worse than 8520 battery :O

    help!

It can be a number of things. One thing you can do is try performing a few battery pulls in succession of each other. This may 'shock' the system and fix the issue of why your device is draining your battery.

It could also be that your radio is working overtime when it may or may not need to.

Try what I recommend above. You can also do a test and turn off all connections on your device and see if the battery still drains so fast. If no, then you have a radio connections working overtime and draining your battery. Many times a simple OS change can fix this. On my Bold 9930 I was getting by a full day on one charge with a couple hours of talktime on top. So when I hear these types of battery drain complaints, it makes me think that it is strictly OS related.

    Question for you mate

I read on Google search about my wall papers being the reason why the battery drains so quickly so I changed it to something made by blackberry since doing this I'm not getting 10-11 Hours

Will this be OS related issue?

Yes, most of the time it's OS related. Sometimes even going back a OS is better than going forward. I had a 9650 that I was charging 3 times a day. Once I changed the OS I was charging only once a day.

you can also turn down the backlighting level, switch out of global in the mobile network, and turn off wifi when not in use. Just a few power saving tips

I guess I was an oddball case as my 9930 got by a full day on one charge no problem. That's with a couple hours of talk time.

Also try switching of your GPS.
That saves me a few hours. As working on 2G not 3G.
Do have to say a 14 hour life is the max so far. With no wifi or blutooth, no calls, few texts, and a normal ammount of email and no internet. Weird because the battery life is 13 days according to RIM ( http://us.blackberry.com/smartphones...specifications )
Btw, anybody having the charging problem? When plugging in the charger or USB cord it tells you the connection is not for charging. I actually need to do a battery pull with charger connected, it turns ond and only then does it charge. It happened to all3 of my 9900's
I have more issues then the not powering on, I think RIM has alot to do and give 1 massive update.
But, still staying loyal to RIM.

I must have gotten lucky with my 9930 as my battery would go the entire day no problem.

I'm almost thinking that most of these battery issues are signal/radio related.

mate the os7 must have issues with signal which makes the battery shocking

gprs does help but it shouldn't have to be the only way to solve this problem

    bring on os7.1 asap

I'd keep updated until RIM releases a OS that gets a hold of the battery issues users are experiencing. I hear that OS 7.1 is suppose to be the OS that helps with battery.
