Thread: 9930 on VZ USB Charging

I bought the wife a 9930 she had the Bold 9630, In her SUV she has a Griffin USB adpter in the power outlet. For some reason it will not power the 9930 at all. It says its not providing enough power or something like that.

But if i plug in her 9630 charges fine, if i plug in my VZ Droid X works fine, if i plug in my work BB 9780 TMO it works. I ended up digging up the old BB OEM Car charger and that works fine. Any ideas as to why USB charging in a car wont work?

It is probably the new OS7 that the 9930 uses. OS7 is a much better operating system and because everything is more advanced as far as hardware and software, it might be needing a higher transfer rate of power to charge it using a car charger. IMHO

If it works with another USB charger I don't think it would be the USB port. Try another car charger to see if that helps.
