It seems like an eternity since RIM announced the BlackBerry Bold 9900. We originally expected the device in late Spring, but have yet to see it be released. Apparently there is a legitimate reason for the delayed release. Some may have heard a rumor from several other BlackBerry sites that the Bold 9900′s release was pushed to September. We've been told that a hardware issue was at fault for the delay. We’re still hoping to see an August release date.

Many beta testers who had evaluation units were sending them back multiple times to RIM. What RIM originally thought was a software issue turned out to be an issue with the printing on the circuit boards. This caused the pushed back release date for final units. RIM has corrected this error, let's hope none of these defective 9900/9930s make their way on to your local store.
