BlackBerry Dakota exposed - Touch and type style BlackBerry

The crew over at BGR have provided us with a crystal clear photo of the BlackBerry Dakota - another upcoming BlackBerry device that is set to launch with the newly revealed OS 6.1. This model looks as modeled after the famous Bold styling, something that BB users have been wanting in a new device for some time now. The Dakota will also include HD video recording, NFC, 3G Mobile hotspot, magnetometer and much, much more! Here are the full specs...

    • Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE
    • Tri-band UMTS
    • 5 megapixel camera with HD video recording, flash, and image stabilization
    • 4GB of built in storage, 768MB of RAM
    • 2.8-inch VGA 640 x 480 capacitive screen
    • WiFi b,g,n on 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequencies
    • 3G mobile hotspot!
    • MicroUSB port
    • Bluetooth
    • NFC
    • Magnetometer
    • Accelerometer
    • Proximity sensor
    • 10.5mm thin
    • Launches with BlackBerry OS 6.1

Will this device replace the Bold 9000 as the most respected BlackBerry? I think so.

    Thank you.

Are you getting one of these? I think I would rather have this device than the new Torch. I'm a huge fan of the Bold 9000.

I just traded out my 9000 Bold for the Torch 9800 because the 9000 was hampered only because of application memory. The Bold 9000 was by far a better sounding phone hands down. Now if this Dakota is everything the specs say and the sound is as capable as the 9000 I will be trading in my Torch 9800.

I honestly think the Dakota is going to be BlackBerry's next big seller. People love the 9000 design.

The 9000 Bold, was and is a iconic design. Believe me I got a white 9780, which is the best BB I've ever used. But if someone came up to me, and wanted to trade it for a Mint (just unboxed) 9000. I would be very tempted. The Dakota will be my next Device.

For sure, it's going to be great to see these upcoming devices and how they function with more power on the upcoming OS 6.1.

Seeing as how I still hold on dearly to my 9000, and make dcom hybrids specifically for the 9000, Im not upgrading until I can get my hands on one of these as for me its the only logical upgrade.

... and of course, I'll be hybridin' for this device too. ha
