application error 606

Hi
My wife's BB 9780 rebooted automatically yesterday after she clicked a link on facebook. Now the screen is blank white and says app error 606

When I select reset, it reboots but keeps coming back to the same screen.

Looks like I have to re-install the OS but my laptop is not connecting to the device through the USB.

Has anyone faced this problem and can you tell me how to fix the device?

Same issue. Searched and searched on this site plus Blackberry Support Forum, Blackberry Knowledge Base.......none of the suggested fixes worked. Called Orange Technical Services in the end and as the BBerry (that they supplied) is within the 12 mth warranty, they are doing a straight swap - as they said they can't fix it. Good luck if you also encounter this problem, this got the better of me.

It looks like some have been able to get past this issue. Good to hear you were able to get a new device from warranty.

I had the same problem, I have a BB Bold 9780 and yesterday I was surfing on a web site and that's it. The screen of my phone turned white and App Error 606 appeared. I have followed the Forum's instructions but nothing. Please let me know what I should do.

Error 606 is a Java process that has died and the device cannot continue to operate in a normal manner.

The solution to this issue is to perform a hard reset by removing the battery from the BlackBerry smartphone and reinserting it.

If this issue persists, another solution is to make sure your BlackBerry device is running the latest OS version.
