Official 9780 Room - Leaked Images and Videos
After hearing earlier today there might be an updated Bold, the 9780, it seems like Salomondrin was able get a picture of it. Based on this picture, you can clearly see the device is running OS6. This device is also said to have 512Mb of onboard RAM. Does this mean your device will need 512Mb of RAM to run OS6? Where does that leave devices like the 9300 a.k.a. Cuve 3G which is said to launch with 256Mb of RAM? After what we heard about the Storm 2 may not be running OS6, is 512Mb of RAM going to be the threshold for running OS6? Will you need a non-touchscreen device to run OS6 as well? There's a lot to discuss so leave a comment in our forums with your opinion.
New BlackBerry 9780 Caught on Video for the First Time!
Here it is folks, we have our first video of he 9780. This new generation BlackBerry Bold is equipped with the all new OS6 and has several upgraded hardware/software features. It is looking like this device will be a refresh for the 9700 Bold device. Now does this mean 9700 users will not see OS6? It would not surprise me, however I hope I am VERY wrong. Make sure you swing by the forums to discuss the siting of this new BlackBerry Device.
The BlackBerry 9780 Meets the Camera Yet Again!!!
Well, here she is again. The 9780 which just surfaced for the first time on the 23rd of July and again caught on video on the 29th, has just surfaced again. This time we have even more images, a new video and some device specs.
Most of the specs are not much of a change from the 9700, however the RAM has quite a nice little story. It apparently only takes 180MB of the 512MB available RAM, to run OS6. This is a ton lower then the 9800, and I supposed this is because of the 9800 Touch Screen features. One could only image how much RAM is need for the 9550 and why Verizon stopped OS6 testing.
Anyway, here are the current specs we know so far:
- 624Mhz Processor
- 512MB Flash RAM
- OS 6.0.0.125 (possible launch build)
- 480x360 Resolution Screen TFT, 65K colors
- 5.0 MP Camera with LED Flash
- Trackpad
- HSPA+?
- Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP
- Wi-Fi b/g (possibly N?)
- Gun Metal Bezel
