Thread: 9700 Now in Rogers Stores!

Thanks to a tipster at Berrycool we have some new pics of that 'sexy' 9700 at a Rogers store. As you can see in the second pic this phone is branded for them. This should be some good news for all of you on their network. I can't tell if its a dummy unit or not, but either way its their's.

i'm going to say most likely a dummy unit. lol this is based on the 3 messages, 12:21 PM BT and WIFI. google up some dummy phones you'll see what i mean...

but either way that means i can go start harassing rogers stores.

9700 is going to be carried by Telus and Bell in Canada as well. The unit showed was a dummy unit coz all stores received the demo kit today.
Telus and Bell have both announced that they will be launching HSPA+ network. Launch date will be 4th for Bell and 5th for Telus. I believe on the launch date, both would launch the 9700, most likely before Rogers does.

My friend who is doing BB tech support with rogers said today he was getting trained on it. but lol he didn't think it was getting released to soon. He is very aware of all the promo stuff that went out but he didn't know anything aout release dates. but i figure it cant be too far off if they have started training their tech call centers. He did mention that he was going to be one of the last on the line to know the release date because he doesn't sell them.

does anyone know have a friend in sales who might be able to provide more info?

Seems like not "all" stores received there demo kit. Just went to my local Rogers store and they weren't even aware that a new Blackberry was going to be released... *sad*

I called the customer service to have some infos (ex.: price) and they couldn't give me any, they said that the retailers had probably more info than them, which isn't the case. But, they confirmed that it was to be released soon, no date though.

ya i noticed that too. in fact i haven't seen any dummy units live yet. every rogers and affiliated store i went to said it was coming but had no units. the costco i went to who has a wirless store said they would be getting it later....

dissapointing.
