BlackBerry Bold 2 To be Announced This Month?

As been said before, the end of this year is shaping up to be very exciting in the BlackBerry world. There has been a bevy of new photos lately of the Bold II 9700, aka Onyx. Today, Engadget has a reliable source saying that AT&T and T-Mobile will be officially announcing the Bold II on October 21. Pricing and other details aren't known as of yet however. AT&T is also rumored to begin offering the Bold in white starting October 18 according to Gizmodo. Unquestionably for GSM users, this is the most anticipated device release this year.

Look for announcement on AT&T 10-22. Technical Acceptance has been pushed on AT&T from 10-12 to 10-22. AT&T is currently testing 5.0.0.296. More than likely there will be one additional firmware update before launch. I suspect TA might get pushed back one more time to the very end of October. Look for 9700 on AT&T mid-Nov.

Off by a day. Damn. Anyhow, at least it's announced and everyone can relax a little and wait a couple weeks. Decent price on AT&T also.
