How much you will be able to pick one of these up unlocked ? probably a arm and a leg maybe a ear and a nose as well LoL :laugh2:

Does anyone have any idea which carriers will get the Onyx? Has there been any talk of Vzw getting a Bold model? Just curious!!

If I am not mistaken, all of the major carriers will be. There's actually 4 different version of the 9700. Pluto, Driftwood, Magnum, and Onyx.

Not all major carriers will get the Bold 9700 (Onyx) it is a GSM device there's not four different versions of the device there is only one (in terms of different versions or variations the main difference will only be the bands) although the Driftwood will look like it but, it is not the same device and it uses a different battery then the Bold 9700 (Onyx). The Bold 9700 (Onyx) uses a MS-1 battery. The Driftwood uses a DX-1 battery.

The Pluto & Magnum I will not get into them.

Quite a shame the CDMA's carriers won't be getting their hands on this. This would be my daily driver but unfortunately I have given up on GSM carriers, at least here in the states.

I was afraid this would be restricted to GSM providers. I'm with JLevy. I wish they would make a CDMA version. Oh well!!!

Hey Touchpro247, Are the profiles on the two devices different since one uses the MS-1 and the other uses D-X1? On BGR's review, he talked about how the Onyx is thinner than the Tour, which also uses the D-X1. I'm just curious if the T-Mobile 9700 is going to be thicker or if they just adjusted some internals because of the different battery profiles.
